Celebration Mass at Scalan
2 June 2009

The head of the Catholic Church in Scotland, Cardinal Keith o' Brian celebrates this historic event at Scalan Seminary on the Braes of Glenlivet.
Bishop Peter Moran and Canon Brian Halloran helped with this Mass attended by more than 100 people.
The purchase of the cottage that was a part of the Seminary building and the fencing of the enclosed land protected by a lease from the Crown creates a unity for the Scalan Association in our new quest to preserve the A listed building for the future
The Annual General Meeting which followed decided to press ahead with the renovation of the new purchase known locally as 'Sandy's Cottage' and feel that it will make necessary some form of fund raising
I would invite you to do one of these things please if you have some view as a member on reading this;

Miss Ann Dean,
Mrs Elizabeth Beaton.
I hope to increase the number of editions of the Scalan News on the web site before the next AGM so that its value as a Historical Source may increase. My target is to include them all from 2 to 21 which are missing at the moment. The fact that we send out over 200 copies of the magazine by post to members suggests a strong membership which we must increase for our project to succeed; if you are currently not a member, are a Catholic or have an interest in History please consider helping us please.
Thank You
Mike Morrison
