I obtained Bees from Brother Benedict of Pluscarden Abbey in July 2010 and they have lived through a particularly bad winter in the first hive on the left which I call Scalan; the middle one is Kelso and the third one Crask.
The bees are Scottish and look black in colour while those in Crask are orange banded, Dundee United Supporters !
I hope to have honey this year but first must ensure I have young brood and new bees to make it and as a way of thanking Brother Adam of Buckfast have linked to their site.
